We bought a Vihta L sauna in the summer of 2021. We originally meant to get an M-size sauna, but the delivery would have slipped into autumn and the Vihta L was ready, so we chose that. And now we're really pleased that there's plenty of room in the sauna lounge. We widened the deck by three (3) boards so there's room to walk more safely when there are chairs and other bits and pieces on it. We also built a canopy over the deck ourselves – and made it a bit longer so that it reaches further over the steps and the water doesn't drip onto them, except that the gutter is still waiting to be fitted. The sauna was treated with a mould protection product in the summer we bought it, and now we're still deciding whether to paint it this summer or let the weather ”roughen” the log surface a bit more so the paint adheres better and more evenly. It's beautiful in its natural wood colour, too. And what steam – I don't think we've had a single sauna session without remarking on the lovely, moist steam, and a sauna evening with breaks lasts a few hours. The air circulates beautifully from the edges of the floor. And that fantastic sauna heater – luckily we went for the Legend heater, it's superb. Wonderfully wide sauna benches. We added mesh to the air gaps in the floor so that wasps and the like can't get in. We also fitted a ventilation grille with mesh on the outside of the vent, so the wasps can't get into the sauna that way either.
We're really happy with the sauna. It's such a pleasure just to look at it, and above all it's wonderful to bathe in. The deck in front of the sauna is still waiting to be built.
