Questions and answers
How much does a finished cabin cost?
With standard equipment, Ehta's cabins cost €23,200–35,350: Cabin 20 23 200 €, Cabin 25 27 100 €, Cabin 30 €31,200 and Cabin 34 €35,350. The villas cost €40,500–56,400.
The price includes a complete building with standard equipment. Transport and installation are priced according to the delivery location, and foundations are not included in the price. For example, a turnkey delivery of Cabin 30 to Lahti costs €3,400 including installation.
What is the difference between a cabin kit and a turnkey cabin?
A turnkey cabin is built ready at the Perho factory, down to the interior surfaces and fittings, and lifted onto your foundations. The transport price of a turnkey delivery includes installation.
In the cabin kit, i.e. in a kit delivery you get all the parts numbered and assemble the cabin yourself or with a local builder. The choice depends on how much time you have to build and whether transport can reach your plot.
Does a 30-square-metre cabin need a building permit?
Cabin 20, 25 and 30 (19.7–29.6 m²) do not require a building permit if the cabin is not intended for permanent living. A fixed stove makes the cabin intended for residential use, and then a permit is required. Cabin 34 and the villas are over 30 m² and always require a permit.
The municipality's local plan and building regulations may set additional conditions or restrictions, especially when building by the shore, so check them with the municipal building control.
Is a cabin suitable for year-round use?
With the winter package, yes. It has 134 mm laminated log and additional insulation for the floor and ceiling. Cabin 30 with the winter package costs €37,191 (basic package €31,200).
Suitable for year-round use is not a standardised term, so compare the log thickness and insulation in the offers. Read whether you need a building suitable for year-round use.
What is the delivery time for the building?
As a rule, all our buildings are delivered in about eight weeks from the order confirmation, depending on the length of the order queue. Remember to allow for any building permit process in your schedule. Some of our models (stock models) are also available with a shorter delivery time.
How much does it cost to transport the building?
The cost of transport depends on the size of the building and the distance. For turnkey deliveries, the transport price always includes installation.

What kind of foundations are needed?
We recommend pier foundations or ground screw foundations for all our buildings. The foundations should be built carefully on a frost-free base, so that they are stable and the building does not shift. We will provide a foundation dimension drawing, making the foundations easy to build.
Can the floor plans be modified?
A garden sauna adapts to your needs, and the floor plans can be modified in many ways. Our design starts by listening to the customer's thoughts, wishes and needs. Based on them, we design the best floor plan: the positions of doors, windows and partition walls, and any additions and removals.
Can the building have a window of a different size? What about an outside door to the sauna room? In other words, can changes be made to the standard models?
We have invested a great deal of time and expertise into the design of our saunas. Our models have been refined over the years to be excellent and functional. However, we understand that needs vary and individual modifications are sometimes necessary. Please get in touch and we can discuss what we can do.
Can the building be electrified?
Yes. When the electrical work is done at the factory, the cables are hidden and no surface wiring is needed. Once the building is in place, the consumer unit is connected to the grid. You can arrange this, for example, with a local electrical installation company.
How should the exterior and interior log surfaces be treated?
The minimum treatment for exterior surfaces is a colourless protective treatment that protects against moisture and mould spots. In damp seasons we recommend treating the surfaces soon after delivery. The protective treatment can also be chosen as an optional extra, in which case it is applied at the factory. Otherwise, the same guidance applies as for treating log surfaces in general.
What warranty do the buildings have?
We give a comprehensive 12-year warranty on the log frame. The floor, roof, sauna benches and electrical installations have a 2-year warranty. Other parts are covered by each manufacturer's own warranty.
