The cost of transport depends on the size of the building and the distance. For turnkey deliveries, the transport price always includes installation.

Since the new Building Act came into force at the beginning of 2025, buildings under 30 square metres can be built everywhere without a building permit. Municipalities can set various construction-related rules in their building ordinance, which it is worth being aware of. Municipalities cannot however, impose stricter requirements than the law for obtaining a building permit.
Unlike before, a fireplace does not affect whether a permit is needed. From now on, garden saunas and other buildings under 30m2 with a fireplace can be built without a construction permit.

Not as far as we know. For example, the new Building Act does not recognise a notification procedure, so no notification is needed either. The only requirement in future is to report new buildings to the Tax Administration for property tax purposes.
Yes, you can. The wall thickness or heating method of the building does not affect whether a building permit is needed. The only thing that matters is whether the building has a cooker. Under the Building Act, a building without a building permit may not be used for residential purposes, and a cooker is considered equipment intended for residential use.
Minimum distances and floor area conditions for shoreline construction vary from one municipality to another. The new Building Act has not changed this. The distance from the shore required for a smallish lakeside sauna is usually around 10-20 metres.
No. A water supply, sewer or, for example, electrical installation does not affect whether a construction permit is needed.
No, you cannot. The building rights on the plot must not be exceeded. Exceeding the building rights is only possible with a derogation permit.
We use warp-resistant, durable laminated logs. They are made from Finnish spruce grown in natural forests. Minor cracking and knots are normal and do no harm. Resin may seep from the knots at first, but this stops over time.
We recommend pier foundations or ground screw foundations for all our buildings. The foundations should be built carefully on a frost-free base, so that they are stable and the building does not shift. We will provide a foundation dimension drawing, making the foundations easy to build.
The minimum treatment for exterior surfaces is a colourless protective treatment that protects against moisture and mould spots. In damp seasons we recommend treating the surfaces soon after delivery. The protective treatment can also be chosen as an optional extra, in which case it is applied at the factory. Otherwise, the same guidance applies as for treating log surfaces in general.
The delivery time for garden saunas and aittas varies slightly with the season. As a rule, delivery takes about seven weeks from the order confirmation. Remember to allow for any building permit process in your schedule. Some of our models (stock models) are also available with a shorter delivery time.
A garden sauna adapts to your needs, and the floor plans can be modified in many ways. Our design starts by listening to the customer's thoughts, wishes and needs. Based on them, we design the best floor plan: the positions of doors, windows and partition walls, and any additions and removals.
Yes, a garden sauna can also be electrified. When the electrics are installed while the sauna is being built at the factory, the cables can be hidden inside the structures instead of running along the surface. Once the building is in place, the consumer unit needs to be connected. You can arrange this with a local electrician, for example.
We give a comprehensive 12-year warranty on the log frame. The floor, roof, sauna benches and electrical installations have a 2-year warranty. Other parts are covered by each manufacturer's own warranty.
Delivery is available throughout mainland Finland. There must, of course, be a road passable by lorry all the way to the site. The load is 2.6–3.5 m wide and weighs over 20 tonnes.
The Ehtasauna prices shown on our website are prices you can rely on. We haven't listed delivery prices, as freight for the sauna depends on the delivery location. But don't worry. Send us a message and the lads will work out a quote for you.
