Garden Sauna 7 can be built without a permit

The Building Act was reformed at the start of 2025, and outbuildings under 30 square metres no longer require a permit. Read more from our article.

Ehta's ready-made log buildings are built in dry factory conditions, delivered in one piece and installed ready for use.

The building arrives on site on the back of a lorry and is lifted onto the foundations by crane. Installation on site typically takes less than 2 hours. You can enjoy the atmosphere of your new cabin or the löyly of your garden sauna the very same evening.

The best purchase for our garden! Our small 6m2 sauna is just right for the garden of our old detached house. We've been using it for a year now and have nothing but good things to say. The quality is amazing, the steam is really good, and I love those wide, high-quality benches, which aren't made of any flimsy timber. The sauna has stayed firmly in place, and the logs are flawless. At the delivery stage we noticed a small ”oops”, when the drain turned out to be on the other side of the sauna compared with the drawings. This was fixed with a simple drain pipe extension and hasn't affected use. We've been so happy with the sauna as a whole that a small mistake like that hasn't made any difference either way.

The delivery was earlier than promised. The löyly is good and rich in oxygen, as replacement air comes in between the skirting boards and the wall. I ordered one more log course for the sauna, which made the sauna suitable for us. I built the benches from kelo (dead standing pine) boards, and we are pleased with the overall result. Thanks to Hanna Humalajoki for the expert sales work.

The sauna met our expectations and has been in frequent use ever since it arrived. The only downside is that the window should be one log higher, so that you could see properly outside while sitting on the top bench.

The process went well and as agreed. We have a small space between the thujas where Hanna managed to design the perfect sauna for us, as a standard ”seven” sauna wouldn't have fitted as such. The orientation and dimensions of the door and windows were spot on. The transport was handled professionally, and there wasn't much room to spare, but it landed nicely on the piers. We've had the sauna since October 2019 and the doors and windows work like new, no creaking or squeaking, nothing to complain about. We heat the sauna 2-3 times a week and we're happy. The Harvia pro 20 heats up quickly. We do our washing indoors, so we didn't take the chimney water tank, but that can be added later. I put in a chimney stone basket that holds about 20 kg of extra stones, so you can recover heat from the chimney. The best things are the oxygen-rich steam, the blazing fire, and the fact that when you open the door you're straight outside. Whether there's a storm or 30 degrees of frost. Next to our garden sauna we have an open-sided shelter for cooling off and a barbecue spot. No need for a summer cottage.
