Ehta Group Oy, a Finnish supplier of ready-made log leisure buildings, is taking a big step forward.
The company is investing 1.2 million euros in new production facilities in the Perho industrial area in Central Ostrobothnia. The investment responds to the growing demand for Ehta sauna cabins and guest cabins. Construction of the factory began in December 2024. The topping-out ceremony was held on May Day, 1.5.2025. The move to the new premises will take place during the summer.
”We expect 30% growth this financial year. The revised Building Act, which came into force at the start of the year, exempts outbuildings under 30 m² from building permits, and this is already showing as growing demand. Now is a good time to invest”,
says CEO Ville Laitila.
The new facilities support growth and development
The new 1200 m² factory hall and the associated 100 m² office and customer facilities are in a prominent location beside Highway 13, which carries a million cars.
The investment will allow production to grow to 6 million euros. At that level, a finished sauna cabin or guest cabin would roll out of the factory's end door every working day of the year.
The new facilities will make production more efficient:
“The average size and equipment level of the buildings are increasing. Thanks to the modern production line built in the new premises, we can push production costs down even further.”,
says production manager Ahti Humalajoki.
The investment also has a significant local impact. As growth continues, Ehta Group plans to create up to 10 new production jobs in Perho over the next four years. The construction contract is being carried out by local company Jetta-Talo Oy.
The municipality has taken a positive view of the project, and the preparations and permits have progressed quickly and flexibly.

Ehta Group's products are growing in popularity. The reform of building legislation is expected to increase demand for smaller leisure buildings even further:
