We got a 16 m2 sauna as a kit delivery. Here's our review:
We happened to buy right when demand was brisk in the spring. Because of this, the delivery time stretched further into the autumn than we had originally thought.
The prefabrication in the delivery was excellent. The timber was precisely cut to size and no tools were needed for the installation.
Shortcomings:
– the heater's protective casing had been damaged in transit; we got a replacement quickly.
– the ceiling panelling delivered for the lounge had no tongue and groove on the ends; we quickly got a new pack of panels from a local timber supplier instead.
– a couple of threaded rods were missing; the missing rods were delivered with the new panels.
– the work instructions in the delivery specified exactly what kind of nails were needed, and once we'd already bought the nail guns, it turned out the specified nail type didn't exist.
The sauna steam is the best and it heats up quickly.
Overall rating for the sauna: a full five stars. Windows, doors and benches, all high-quality materials. Modern look.
The complete delivery was the decisive factor, which is why Ehta won our comparison. Competitors, on the other hand, said you could get parts yourself from local hardware shops, which would have been a lot of work.
There's room for improvement in how the delivery is packed: the logs weren't in numerical order, so the stacks had to be taken apart completely before starting. Luckily it didn't rain. The amount of thermally modified timber for the sauna floor was quite sufficient, but with one extra board there'd have been no need for a single joint in the floor.
We assembled the sauna ourselves, just the two of us, and the frame went up in two weeks alongside remote work. We had our first sauna on New Year's Eve!
