Many people dreaming of their own sauna may have wondered whether to order a garden sauna from Estonia or buy one in Finland. Both countries certainly have expertise and traditions in both timber construction and sauna making.

1. Range
If a garden sauna from Estonia or Finland is on your shopping list, there's plenty of choice. However, garden saunas and sauna cabins ordered from Estonia are usually kit deliveries only, and the ready-made saunas are mainly smaller barrel saunas. 2. Ease of ordering
When the product information is in Finnish, there's a better chance that the order will be what you wanted and that there won't be any unexpected costs. If your Estonian isn't fluent, dealing with the seller can be tricky. So it's at least worth thinking about whether someone among your family and friends has the language skills to help with the purchase. Some online shops supplying saunas from Estonia also have Finnish-language websites.
3. Does the warranty work?
Look carefully into the warranty terms. With products and services bought from a Finnish company, warranty matters are usually clearer, and the Consumer Protection Act protects you in difficult situations.
4. Material
Ehta garden saunas are made from domestic laminated log of at least 90 mm thickness, which withstands sauna use and is guaranteed not to warp. According to online shop selections, garden saunas from Estonia are often made from a lighter planed log of up to 70 mm thickness.
5. Pricing policy
Prices in Estonia have traditionally been somewhat lower than in Finland, but the price levels are steadily converging. Besides the price, it's also worth assessing what it will cost you if the order or quality doesn't turn out as expected, or if there are extra delays, e.g. at border crossings.
6. Is the customer service good?
A Finnish company will usually also have Finnish-language customer service to help with planning and purchasing. Sauna manufacturers can also advise on Finnish legislation and permit matters.
7. Delivery schedule and costs
The shorter the transport distance, the clearer, more reliable and more affordable the delivery schedules and costs. On short journeys, unexpected delays and the like are less common.
