The price of a sauna or sauna cottage depends largely on how much work you want to do yourself, and how finished the sauna solution you buy. The options are therefore:
- order a turnkey delivered ready-to-use garden sauna
- obtain a self-assembly sauna kit or
- get a pile of logs on the plot and roll up your sleeves.
If you don't charge for your work, a self-builder will usually get the cheapest deal. However, it should be borne in mind that building a sauna is not exactly child's play. If you have no experience in building, you may lose a lot of perfect summer evenings to sauna building.
What is the price of a sauna cottage made up of?
The price of a lakeside cottage or sauna cabin is influenced by factors such as:
- how to get a sauna ready
- the level of equipment in the outdoor sauna
- How big a sauna do you want?
As with other building projects, there is no ceiling on the price of a sauna cabin. When considering the size and level of fittings for your sauna, the sky is the limit and your imagination is the only limit.
However, most of us end up with fairly standard solutions with little customisation. The main thing is to have a sauna with a heater, benches and soft baths. You can customise the colour of the sauna, the size and fittings of the dressing room, the material of the benches or a possible terrace.
Examples: sauna cottage price
Here are a few examples of what a garden sauna or sauna cottage could cost and what you can get for that money.
- Finished sauna cottage, price approx. 15 000 - 20 000 €
- Gorilla 10-20 m2
- Amount of work: The finished sauna cottage requires no work from the buyer. The buyer is responsible for obtaining a building permit and putting the foundations in order.
- Equipment: The finished sauna cottage is delivered ready to use, including the stove and decking. At this price you get a modern sauna cabin with a spacious sauna, a dressing room of about 10 m2 and a nice sized terrace.
- To whom For those who value their own time and a good quality beer
- Self-assembled sauna package, price approx. 10 000 - 15 000 €
- Gorilla Approximately 15 m2
- Amount of work: The buyer will be responsible for assembling the sauna, and for obtaining the building permit and completing the foundations.
- Equipment: A self-assembly sauna package generally includes, in addition to the walls, for example: benches, an intermediate ceiling, windows, doors, fittings, locks, flooring and gutters. For instance, purchasing a sauna heater is the buyer's own responsibility. The package also doesn't always include exterior roofing material.
- To whom For a hardworking builder who can handle a hammer and has plenty of free time.
- Small barrel sauna, price approx. 3000 - 10 000 €
- Gorilla 4-8 m²
- Amount of work: A barrel sauna is usually delivered in parts, leaving assembly to the buyer.
- Equipment: A log cabin package usually includes building materials, doors and windows, roofing felt, benches, flooring, etc. A sauna stove is typically not included in the price.
- To whom For someone with some building skills who doesn't need much space or grand features from their sauna.
- Sauna house built from long stuff, price ???
- Gorilla Completely up to you.
- Amount of work: Building with long goods refers to a traditionally built garden sauna, i.e. the builder himself procures the building materials on site and handles, processes and installs them himself.
- Equipment: You have full control over the equipment.
- To whom For a construction industry professional or at least a very experienced DIY enthusiast. A lot of time and effort will be required, so it's a good idea to have skilled helpers amongst your close circle.
Finally: sauna cottage price
In addition to the examples described above, there is a wide range of prices and levels of sauna houses and cabins. As noted, the main factors influencing the price of a garden sauna are the size of the sauna, the level of equipment and the degree of completion of the sauna supplied.
When you are looking to purchase a sauna cabin or a garden sauna, explore a few different sauna suppliers, as there are differences in providers, saunas, and delivery contents.
The price of a sauna cabin alone does not always tell the whole story. It is always worth finding out what is included in a sauna delivery.
