Virtain Vaskivesi is a lively rural village in North Pirkanmaa. With a large number of summer cottages, Vaskivesi's population doubles during the summer. This weekend, we met local entrepreneur Marko Maijala, who runs Sängenniemen Lomahuvilat in Vaskivesi. Lomahuvilat rents out high-quality holiday villas for year-round use.
When you meet, Marko introduces the operations of Sängenniemi Holiday Cottages and, in particular, its newest addition, a modern holiday cottage due to be completed in the spring. The stylish holiday cottage consists of three bright bedrooms, a living room with large windows, a kitchen built next to the living room, and a stylish indoor sauna. But the cottage must also have Summer cottage sauna, Marko comments.
The search for a lakeside sauna had begun back in the summer of 2017. Tender requests had been sent out, but a suitable one wasn't found. After the turn of the year, the Google search engine offered a new arrival – NEW SAUNA. It wasn't long before the deal was done. It feels good that Marko, an expert in buying saunas, ended up with NEW SAUNA.
Sometimes sauna projects require special arrangements to succeed. In this case, the ground by the shore was very soft, so the sauna delivery was timed for when the ground was frozen. The team at the factory promised a quick delivery time, and Marko, in turn, worked his magic with the foundations in the frozen ground. In the right-hand side of the picture is the location for the future sauna, under the heating mat. The sauna delivery is planned for after Easter.
In the summer, this cottage and Sauna 16 right on the shore of the lake await their summer residents. This is a must-experience, with a weekend already planned.
