Kaisu and Ari Erkkilä have had a summer cottage in Liimattala, Äänekoski, for 5 years. Ehta supplied a ready-to-use garden sauna for the Erkkilä's cottage shore.
The idea of getting a garden sauna ripened a couple of years ago when Kaisu looked at the cottage shore bathing in the evening sun from the lake.
– I saw that there should be a sauna in that spot.
The choice fell on the Ehtasauna Kuutio S model, which is not currently in Ehta's product range.
Finding a suitable sauna was hard work
Once the decision to buy a sauna had been made, the Erkkiläs looked at options online. There was a lot on offer, but they couldn't seem to find a suitable model.
The choice was incredibly difficult. In most ready-made saunas, the steam room is small and the changing room is large. We wanted a large steam room, and Ehtalta had one.
The second challenge related to the sauna's material. Many saunas might have been otherwise suitable, but the construction too flimsy. Ari wanted the sauna walls to be of sturdy logs, like those in Ehtta.
– And that you don't have to be straightening and nailing panels after the first winter.

The schedule and price were good
The Erkkilä family visited Ehtas' factory in Perho and were convinced of the quality of work. The service was flexible and individual.
We even got to experience the sauna at the CEO’s home when the model in his garden best met our wishes.
After the shopping was done, the Erkkilä family applied for a building permit for the sauna.
– The building permit was easy to apply for online. We ordered the foundations from a local earthworks contractor.
On the whole, the Erkkilä family were satisfied with their dealings with Ehta. Everything went as agreed. The schedules and prices were adhered to. The delivery of the sauna made Kaisu a little nervous.
I had to be at the cabin alone when the sauna arrived. But the driver easily lifted the sauna off the lorry with a crane. All I had to do was stay out of the way.
Ari crafted a bench for the changing room from the support beams used in transporting the sauna. One suggestion for improvement has also come to mind.
– A mesh could be fitted to the ventilation grille at the factory. A small bird managed to pop into the sauna to have a look at what sort of a box this is.

The promises of unbeatable sauna experiences were fulfilled
After a few months of sauna use, the Erkkiläs can't find fault with their outdoor sauna. The promise of long, hot sessions has been fulfilled. Kaisun likes the sauna's brightness.
– It’s lovely to watch the white swans feeding by the shore from the large window.
Kaisu and Ari have 9 grandchildren, who have also embraced the sauna. During their summer holidays, the children spent 11–16 hours a day by the lake. From the sauna, you have a good view of the shore, and from the shore, you can see the sauna and what the children are up to. Kaisu remembers a statement from a 3-year-old grandchild on a sunny summer day.
It's certainly good that this sauna is ready.
