🌟 The final of the 2025 Gingerbread Competition is over. The winner of the adult category was Petra (entry No. 3). Santeri and Iina shared first place in the children's category. See all the finalists' entries below! 🌟
Finalists in the adult category
The adult category received many wonderful entries, and choosing the finalists was difficult. The 5 entries that best met the entry criteria were selected for the final:
(1) The work relates to Ehta's log buildings.
(2) The entry conveys Ehta's customer promise, ”Best moments”.
Winners of the children's category
In the children's category, of the entries received, only 2 originally met the entry criteria (a gingerbread creation related to Ehta's log buildings), so the competition did not go quite as planned.
On the other hand, both of these entries were truly wonderful, so we decided to declare a tie and reward both winners.
After the competition had already ended, one entrant asked us why their entry had not made it to the final or won a prize. The missing entry – with strong winning potential – turned up in the spam folder, so in the end we were able to reward 3 entries in the children's category.
What was the moral of the story? It always pays to open your mouth and ask.
Thank you to everyone who took part! All the entries in the children's category warmed the hearts of the Ehta team – and surely others too.
Iina Jantunen – a touchingly atmospheric entry with beautiful details
This work impressed with its beautiful details. The work is completely different from the style of Ehta's buildings, but clearly a great deal of effort has gone into it and most importantly: the promise of ”Best Moments” shines through the atmosphere of the work in many ways.
Santeri Humalajoki – at the heart of Ehta's customer promise
This work has clearly been made with the competition guidelines in mind. The work precisely follows the details of Ehta Sauna models: could it be Garden Sauna 16? The translucent window panes added from gelatin leaves, the terrace with its railings, and the couple hurrying to the spot with towels on and smiles on their faces, cannot help but bring a smile to your face. At this Christmas sauna, one is guaranteed to spend their ’Best Moments’!
Moona and Valtteri Koskinen
This wonderful ensemble includes both a wealth of detail and evocative imagery of special moments in cottage life. Furthermore, the building is very reminiscent of Garden Sauna 13, which is part of Ehta's smallest sauna + cottage ensembles. The work's title ”sauna cottage and outhouse in a Christmas landscape” tells the viewer everything essential.
Entry instructions for the Ehta gingerbread house competition
General rules:
- Enter the competition by creating a gingerbread creation related to Ehta's log buildings – garden saunas, cabins, Villas, aittas, …
- The entry should reflect Ehta's customer promise in whatever way you like: ”Best moments”
- You can use either the ready-made templates we have created (see templates) or use your own creativity.
- The competition has a children's* and an adult category.
*The children's category is open to 12-year-olds and younger.
